Sam advises businesses in Australia, India and Japan on trade and investment opportunities.

He was formerly the President of General Electric in Australia where he led the energy market strategy and the global separation of GE’s healthcare, energy and aerospace businesses across the ASEAN region.

Sam began his career working in the Government sector in a range of energy, resources and commerce portfolios. He spent almost a decade working in the mining and energy industry after leaving Government. His career includes a period researching climate policy and emissions trading in the United Kingdom where he authored a range of peer reviewed publications.

Sam holds a Bachelor of Science, a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and Executive MBA. He is a member of CSIRO’s Manufacturing Business Unit Advisory Committee and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Sam is an active volunteer surf lifesaver at his local beach and is a mentor to the Women in STEM and Women in Renewables mentoring programs.
